Bachelor of Science in Communication and Leadership Degree Requirements

The Communication and Leadership Degree program is a flexible program that allows students to tailor their degree to match their interests. Students start by taking four leadership classes and then are able to use their other credit hours for courses that focus on public service, business, and nonprofit and philanthropy work. They also have the option to use their elective hours to complete a minor, including in business foundations, public policy, global management, environment and sustainability, and more.

The Bachelor of Science in Communication and Leadership degree comprises 120 credit hours. 

Core Curriculum 
A specific combination of coursework in English, Government, American History, Math, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Fine Arts.  

Major requirements
36 hours of coursework across three designated areas:

-Fifteen hours of communication and leadership major courses;
-Twelve hours focusing on communication fundamentals and skills;
-Nine hours of interdisciplinary courses that explore social issues.
-At least 15 hours must be in upper-division coursework.
-Each course may only be counted toward one area, unless topics vary.
