Valerie is a social impact strategist, writer and consultant specializing in change-related communications–especially in the areas of environmental protection, sustainability, health, public affairs, and diversity, equity and inclusion issues.
She has spent her career breaking down complex environmental issues into fun, profound campaigns that take creative risks and get results. Valerie co-founded the agency EnviroMedia in 1997, leading as CEO for 22 years. She teaches Environmental Communications, Integrated Communications Management, and Integrated Communications Campaigns. She has received several Green Grants to work with her students to create the Longhorns Don’t Litter campaign for clients in the UT Environmental Health & Safety Department.
Valerie regularly serves as a judge for the South By Southwest Interactive Innovations Awards. She received a Bachelor of Journalism in Public Relations from UT Austin.
