Moody College welcomes new director of the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations

Moody College of Communication is proud to announce that Matthew Eastin, Ph.D. is the new director of the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations. Eastin was chosen to fill the role after a national search, extensive interviews, consultations, discussions and reviews. Eastin has been an associate professor and professor of advertising and public relations at the graduate and undergraduate levels at Moody College since 2007. He will begin in the role on Aug. 16.
“It is an honor to serve as the Director of the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations,” Eastin said. “Having been a part of this incredible program for the past 17 years, I have great respect for the tradition of excellence that has been established over generations.”
In addition to teaching, Eastin has served as the graduate advisor for the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations Ph.D. program and co-founding director of the Nelson Center for Brand and Demand Analytics. Eastin also served as the director of the Social Engagement and Media Influence Research Group. He has been a faculty associate to Texas Student Media, an executive board member for Texas Student Media and a faculty associate for the Energy Institute. He was previously an assistant professor at Ohio State University’s School of Communication.
Eastin says that he is excited for the new opportunities this role will provide him to work alongside Moody College faculty and students.
“I look forward to working with our exceptional faculty and industry leaders to bring a rigorous, relevant and innovative education to the Stan Richards School of Advertising and Public Relations students,” Eastin said.
Current director of the Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations, Natalie Tindall, Ph.D., is set to become the new director of the Communication and Leadership degree program this fall.
