UT Austin’s Moody College announces release of new ‘What It’s Like’ podcast
The University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication, in collaboration with the college’s The Drag Audio Production House, is delighted to announce the release of its new, highly anticipated podcast, "What It's Like." This podcast will showcase compelling narratives from alumni, faculty, students and friends of Moody College who will share their experiences achieving success in numerous communication fields.
Podcast guests include journalists, advertising professionals, movie producers, podcasters and more, such as film star Glen Powell, producer Neal Moritz and NPR’s “Pop Culture Happy Hour” host Aisha Harris.
The podcast is produced, reported and hosted by Moody College students who work for The Drag Audio. It is part of the college’s commitment to providing students with the latest skills and hands-on, life-changing experiences.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals, exploring their unique life experiences and genuinely understand what it’s like to be them,” said journalism student and host Mahlah Freeman.
The Drag has produced 16 podcast seasons over the past five years, including original shows “Darkness” and “Lady Bird” and partnership podcasts with University clients like Planet Texas 2050 and the McCombs School of Business.
"We are fortunate to be part of a college that enriches our lives with opportunities like jobs, internships, classes and more,” said producer Mackenzie Matwick, a journalism senior. “Being a part of a project that gives back and promotes Moody has been incredibly rewarding. We've had the privilege of engaging with fascinating individuals for the podcast — it's an absolute joy!”
The trailer for “What It’s Like” is out now, and the first episode will be released on February 13, with new episodes on the second Tuesday of every month.
